{Ajax-DOT-NET-FAQ} OBIEE Developer

Job Title: OBIEE Developer

Location: Raleigh, NC
Duration: 6 months


A top tier investment bank is looking for an OBIEE Developer to join the team due to growth and opportunity.

 

This position is a Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI) Developer within the Product Control IT department.  This position will support the OBI development needs within the Product Control Results Store (Warehouse and Reporting) project.  The business drivers for the project are global, consolidated and related reporting and analytics for Product Control, and access to, through and across;

 

·         Complete inventory and balance sheet of Credit Suisse for reporting              

·         Results of Product Control processes for cross referencing and analysis

·         P&L

·         General Ledger

·         PC specific reference and market data

 

Product Control reporting will help advance the road map for the Finance Data Warehouse.  The objective of the Finance Data Warehouse is to implement a strategic, single, comprehensive, consistent, reconciled authoritative source of information to be used by all downstream reports and systems.  This single source of information will be used to support;

·         Product Control Reporting

·         FA Reporting

·         MI reporting

·         Regulatory Reporting

·         Treasury and Liquidity Reporting

·         Other Finance functions

 


Design Activities

Design activities undertaken will match the needs of the individual project or set of enhancements being requested.  Over time, these will include:

·         Understand and translate business requirements into report and dashboard GUI designs, possibly including creation of requirements prototypes and agreeing design with nominated business users

·         Identifying appropriate OBI features to use for a given business requirement, eg alerts, scheduled reports

·         OBI repository and web catalog design

·         Semantic layer design

·         KPI notifications design

·         Extending local OBI design standards to meet new design challenges

·         Identifying user security issues and designing appropriate solutions to them

 

Responsibility for data warehouse design does not fall within the scope of this role, however it is a desirable skill.


Development Activities

Development activities undertaken will also match the needs of the individual project or set of enhancements being requested.  These will include:

·         Report development

·         Dashboard development

·         KPI notifications development

·         Semantic layer development

·         Report schedule development

·         Configuration management and deployment of components

·         Testing of components developed and their integration with the data source(s)

 


Support Activities

·         Although the OBI product is not expected to be support-intensive, when problems occur they will need to be resolved within the new team.  This will entail:

·         OBI repository and web catalog administration

·         Investigation and resolution of production issues and user queries

·         Escalation of major incidents

·         Taking ownership of any issues


Qualifications:

3 to 6 years of development experience


Detailed knowledge of OBI toolset, especially:

  • OBI Publisher
  • OBI Delivers
  • OBI Dashboards
  • OBI Answers
  • OBI Server
  • OBI Administrator

Data modelling, preferably dimensional modelling using star schemas Oracle DBMS

Full project lifecycle experience

·         Java

·         Clearcase Version Control tool
