Seeking Business/Data Analyst

Location: Boston, MA

Duration: 5 Months

Rate: $45/hr BEST

 

Responsibilities: Develop data requirements and definitions based on business requirements for both relational and dimensional data models Produce data mappings Interface with data experts, data sourcing resources and DW/BI project teams Develop Entity-Relationship models Assist in structuring data profiling and validation process Perform data gap analysis as required Document data requirements Develop data flow diagrams based on business processes Develop the logical data models with appropriate business contexts Primary Deliverables: Data gap analysis Data profiling analysis E-R models Data and process flow diagrams Logical data model

Skills: Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Information Technology, or related field of study 6-7+ experience in data analysis and reporting solutions implementations Understanding of core business processes Analytical capabilities to translate complex business calculations into definitions for database/BI modelers Ability to create logical data models for both relational and dimensional data structures Strong SQL skills for data profiling and validation activities Understands BI tool architecture, functions, features and database structures

 

Defines business/system requirements by facilitating user meetings and interviewing users, developing use cases, and researching and resolving issues. Participates in business analysis project planning and management by documenting and maintaining plans, managing issue logs and preparing project documentation. Analyzes current processes and recommends solutions and improved processes. May also oversee the acquisition, analysis and dissemination of subject matter knowledge. Provides technical and business knowledge to clients. Keeps abreast of technological and competitive developments. Conducts research on industry practices and standards and other benchmarking data. Codes and maintains business application programs from user instructions or formal functional specifications. Experience in the analysis and testing phases in the development cycle.
