Position: Sr Software Engineer/Java Developer

Location: Milwaukee, WI

Duration: 7 Months (Contract)

Rate: Negotiable

 

Note: face-to-face interview required.  

 

Job Description:

• Seeking an experienced software engineer skilled in developing user interface (UI) features using Java Swing, C#, and possibly other languages/technologies.

Duties:

• Work within a team of engineers to develop new and enhanced features within existing rich-client, Web-based, and/or mobile user interface applications.
• Conform to various software development and business processes.  

Responsibilities may include:

• Analyze and refine requirements for user interface development.
• Design and implement UI software to meet requirements, including producing detailed design documentation with input from a User Experience team.
• Contribute to design and code inspections.
• Provide input to technical discussions; propose solutions and alternatives.
• Analyze cost effectiveness and feasibility.
• Provide work estimates; perform tradeoffs between implementation, schedule and cost and resource constraints, and recommend alternatives.
• Provide technical expertise to less experienced developers. 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a closely related discipline to be determined by business needs or equivalent technical experience.
• Minimum of 4 years experience developing software for user interfaces.
• Strong UI software design and written communication skills, and proficiency in programming using Java Swing and/or C# (prefer strong skills in both).

Pluses:

• Proficient in other programming languages, various design patterns, Java Web Start, mobile application development.
