Position: Embedded Software Engineer

Location: Auburn Hills, MI

Duration: 3 - 6 Months (Contract)

Rate: Negotiable

 

Description

v      Embedded LINUX Software Engineer. 

 

Description

v      Provide technical leadership in the resolving stability issues on an embedded Linux system.

v      Use operating system profiling tools to optimize system boot time and overall performance.

v      Develop applications in C and C++ for a component in an automotive infotainment system.

v      Work with hardware suppliers and 3rd party software suppliers to resolve integration issues with their products.

v      Mentor engineers in Linux application development and debugging. 

 

Required

v      Bachelor of Science in EE, EET, CE, or CS (or equivalent experience)

v      Minimum 10 years of embedded software development experience

v      Minimum 5 years of developing Embedded Linux** middleware applications.

v      Deep understanding of overall Linux architecture and driver model

v      Proficiency in debugging Linux systems at all levels (application, BSP, kernel, driver, etc.)

v      Experience in system optimization using Operating System Profiling tools

v      Experience with C, C++, and assembly programming languages

v      Ability to read/understand product schematics and mechanizations

v      Experience with software debuggers

v      Experience with Commercial configuration management tools, preferably Synergy.

v      Experience with

 

Preferred

v      Experience with software development for automotive electronics

v      Experience with GPU's using OpenGLES and/or OpenVG

v      Experience with Audio and Video decoding

v      Familiarity with automotive infotainment media busses, preferably MOST.

v      Familiarity with HMI tools, preferably Populus

v      Familiarity with Freescale i.MX51 family microcontrollers (Cortex-A8)

v      Experience with QNX, VxWorks, WinCE, and other Real Time Operating Systems.
