Location :  North Wales, PA
Duration :  6 months to conversion

Must-haves:
Around 8 years of related experienceOracle database and application performance tuning experience
Oracle 9i, 10g, 11i databases
Olap Analytical Workspace
Oracle Applications Release III à patching, cloning and upgrading along with associated technologies (Discoverer, Express, iAS, PL, SQL)
Database design and implementation experience
BM-AIX experience
EMC storage experience
backup/recovery, disaster recovery using standby databases
Server and Operating systems knowledge
Strong analytical skills

Day to day:
The Sr. Oracle Applications Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for providing operating success and performance as well as provides technical expertise and support to the Oracle Applications (ERP) infrastructure and non-Oracle Application databases. They will implement, manage and monitor databases and associated technologies to the sites, subsidiaries and corporate locations in North America. Provides input into the evaluation and recommendation of strategies, technologies and standards for all IT related infrastructures. Will support the production environment and participate in development of projects, along with providing after hours support as required.  Participates in the design, build and deployment of application and database systems according to requirements. They must have
good communication skills. They will interact with all levels of management and be responsible for the management of projects assigned to his/her group. Provide Oracle Application DBA technical support for the company's release 11i Oracle Application system. Provide technical support for the company's production databases and associated technologies, including Oracle 9i, 10g and 11i databases. Perform database monitoring, maintenance, reorganizations, resource management, schema management and capacity planning and performance tuning for the company's databases.Develops and maintains contacts with external software applications providers of present and future automated tools, products, and services to convey the
company's needs and to further the company's interests. Coordinates with other IT organizations (i.e. Operations, Delivery Management, Infrastructure) for software upgrades and installation of new products.
Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed. Reviews and approves new drafts and changes to policies and procedures for functions reporting.

Plusses:
R12 Upgrade experiences a plus.
Experience with High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions a plus.
