Position: Programmer Analyst

Location: Richmond, VA

Duration: 1 Year (Contract)

Rate: Negotiable

1. This is a small IT team where each individual plays an important role in support of the systems for Company Retail.
2. You will have an opportunity to be versatile in your day to day work. We have projects planned, projects that are starting, projects in progress, and systems in maintenance.
3. The Programmer/Analyst will work with the current Business Systems Analyst, Technical Lead, and IT Enterprise group to develop and support the Company Retail web applications and the integration between other applications.
4. This position requires an individual that is detailed oriented and desires to understand the Retail business and how technology can improve the performance of Company Retail.
5. The qualified candidate should be comfortable working within a multitasking, in-house development environment.
6. The ability and desire to troubleshoot in-house developed software, as well as to develop new software is important.
7. Excellent organizational & communication skills are required.

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Convert requirements into a technical design specification and develop the web application.
• Create, design, and develop web pages.
• Develop/generate, test, and implement web services and clients.
• Perform day to day build and deployment activities and maintain code versions using version control tools.
• Support production deployments and production bug fixes along with analysis and user testing.

Qualifications:

• 5 years or more experience in IT applications programming development and maintenance of web applications.
• Proven ability to work independently while in a team environment and can be committed to a task.
• Experience in developing and maintaining transactional web applications.
• Exhibits excellent problem solving skills and is flexible, adaptable, and enjoys learning.
• Strong communication skills (written and oral) as well as strong technical skills.
