Client is looking for Network Security Engineer – New York, NY. This is 6-12 months contract position. The Hourly rate is DOE.
Position Summary:
This Network Security Engineer will be part of a team responsible for the design, installation, and support of network security infrastructure: DNS, DHCP, Firewalls/VPNs, Proxies, Load Balancers and associated systems. The candidate will work within a team that is responsible for designing, installing, and operating these technologies. Must have strong knowledge of IPSEC VPNs with Checkpoint.

· Strong problem determination skills in a multi platform environment
· Must be able to effectively interact with other IT professionals
· Clearly communicate with non technical clients
· Available for on-call rotation and/or Off Hours work
Technical Requirements:
· Must have strong knowledge of the following firewall platforms:
o Checkpoint
o Juniper
o Cisco PIX
· Must have strong knowledge of IPSEC VPNs
o Nortel
o Cisco
o Checkpoint – MUST 95% WORK ON THIS..
· Experience in Load balancing environment
o F5 BigIP BIG PLUS
· Experience in Proxy environment
o Bluecoat
· Experience with Cisco routing and switching technologies
o In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP including NAT and Routing
· Experience with the following DNS platforms is a plus
o Bind
o QIP
o Infoblox BIG PLUS
o MS-DNS (a plus)
· Knowledge of UNIX: SUN Solaris, Linux, BSD, Shell/Perl scripting is a plus
Additional Technical Skills:
· Knowledge of Network-based IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanning/pen testing tools, host-based security controls
· Experience with DOS and DDOS attack mitigation
· Working knowledge of MS Windows
Education, Certifications and Experience:
· Must have a minimum of 5 years Network Security experience
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science is a plus
· CISSP, Cisco CCNP/CCDP, or Checkpoint CCSE are a plus
