Specific scope is as follows:

Customer has requested the assistance of Oracle Consulting for Database Performance assessment

Production database running a 6-node 10.2.0.3 Real Application Clusters (RAC) on RHAT Linux 1 Data Warehouse 11gR2

non-RAC Oracle database on RHAT Linux.

 

This is a time and material engagement for up to (30) person days which includes the following types of activities:

• Verification and validation of hardware infrastructure for compliance with certified stack requirements to support the version running.

• Review RAC installation configurations.

• Review of operating system and database parameters at baseline.

• Review the clusterware configurations OS patches.

• Review device configurations for Oracle Cluster Registry (OCR) Voting Disks.

• Review the Automatic Storage Management (ASM) configurations and disk configurations.

• Measurement of baseline performance metrics.

• Collection of statistics through Automatic Database Diagnostic Monitor (ADDM), Automatic Workload Repository (AWR) or Oracle Enterprise Manager.

• Review existing database performance statistics as well as anecdotal performance evidence already available.

• Interpretation of statistics gathering, with a focus on ""wait events"".

• Interpretation and analysis of statistics, with a focus on improving performance of the SQL queries Online transaction Processing (OLTP) application performance.

• Interpretation and analysis of statistics, with a focus on logical and physical I/O and CPU usage.

• Identify additional metrics to be collected if needed.

• Classification and prioritization of the performance issues affecting the performance of the database.

• Identify and prioritize areas of focus based on a review of available performance data.

• Review and troubleshoot specific problem areas identified.

• Interpretation of various SQL statements that require tuning."
