Client is looking for Web Developer - Waltham, MA (Boston). This is a 3 months contract position. The Hourly rate is DOE. Client is looking for TRI-STATE candidates only.
Programming Consultant: We are looking for a strong, independent "can-do" developer who thrives in a small yet fast-paced environment. This person will be responsible for developing and supporting new and existing products with a very strong experience in MySQL database.
Responsibilities
§ Design, modify, develop, test, deliver and support new and existing software products
§ Work in 2-3 person teams on multiple projects at once
§ Report on project status, estimate work requirements, create project plans and timelines
§ Communicate with clients on technical issues
§ Exhibit grace under pressure when clients demand the impossible
Requirements
§ BS in Computer Science or higher (or impress us with your background and training)
§ Thorough MySQL, PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Unix/Linux knowledge and experience is a *must* (My client is not a Microsoft shop)
§ Experience with large databases (20+ tables, many millions of records) is important
§ Strong experience with AJAX/Web 2.0 technologies also very important, with emphasis on jQuery, HTML5, etc.
§ 3+ years experience in a business software development environment
§ Familiarity with software development life-cycle methodologies
§ Strong English communication skills, verbal and written
§ Bright, disciplined, detail-oriented; structured and organized in approaching work; able to multi-task
§ Ability to work independently with little supervision in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
§ Displays sense of humor and lack of hubris – prima donnas/hackers/wizards need not apply
Any of these are strong pluses:
§ UI/web design skills (esp. CSS/JavaScript)
§ Financial services industry experience (i.e., strong knowledge of retirement planning, education funding, and/or benefits communications fields)
§ Experience with security aspects of software development (e.g., SSL/encryption protocols, SOX, PCI, GLBA, penetration and security testing tools)
§ Solid analytical skills
