	POSITION SUMMARY (A brief description summarizing the overall purpose and scope of the position)
	GXS is looking for Senior Oracle Database Administrators. Candidates will be responsible for the design, implementation and support of all Oracle databases supporting business-critical production environments.
	MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, implement and tune Oracle Golden Gate technology Diagnose and correct Oracle database outages. Configure, implement, and document new databases. Implement and document approved customer requests for changes to the databases. Configure Oracle database monitors using Oracle and third-party tools. Develop and implement backup/recovery strategies. Test new Oracle versions and features prior to production implementation. Install new releases/versions/fixes. Set up, document, perform, monitor and review restart and recovery procedures including data and transaction recoveries. Review performance of the database platforms and provide recommendations for improved performance. Explain and interpret Oracle requirements, issues and related recommendations. Assist other team members as needed to provide excellent service to GXS customers Provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotating basis. Develop options, recommendations, cost analysis, and prepare design documentation including specifications, diagrams, bill of materials, project schedules and test plans for database implementations and upgrades.
RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHER JOBS/ORGANIZATIONS:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: [Identify specific critical knowledge, skills, education and experience required)
B.S. in computer science / information systems or equivalent combination of education and experience 5-7 years progressively responsible experience in: -Oracle 11g database installation, configuration, and administration -Oracle RAC installation, configuration and administration -Oracle RMAN backup and Recovery -Oracle Grid Control platform implementation and data collection -Oracle Golden Gate installation, configuration, and tuning.
