The Commercial Business Services Unit is seeking a Senior Storage Architect that has experience architecting, building, and supporting EMC Symmetrix-based storage systems in a team environment.  The storage system supports an enterprise environment that consisting of 500+ Intel or UNIX servers.  The ideal candidate will also be a self-starter who is comfortable multi-tasking and leading storage-related projects.  This position will participate in a 7x24 on-call rotation.

This is a Senior-level position; the ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with the following technologies:

EMC Symmetrix/Clarion/Celerra Storage Systems 

PowerPath 

SRDF 

TimeFinder 

EMC ControlCenter 

Fiber attached and IP based storage 

Cisco FiberChannel Director-class Switches 

 

Disaster Recovery/Backup

Architecting & supporting D/R planning exercises 

Support of an enterprise backup solution 

 

Software & Operating Systems

UNIX - AIX, Solaris, HP-UX (strong knowledge of one is required) 

Microsoft Windows Server 

Linux 

Ad-hoc scripting, program development 

 

Miscellaneous

3+ years of EMC storage experience 

Strong oral and written communication skills 

Storage reporting to include capacity, performance, and costing 

Capability of evaluating technical specifications of storage requirements and assignment of appropriate storage to a service or application 

Knowledge of/experience with de-duplication 

Knowledge of storage  virtualization 

 

Experience in the following areas are not required for the position, but would be helpful:

Bachelors Degree in a related discipline 

IBM and HP Storage Technologies 

Database Administration Experience 

EMC professional certifications 

Additional Professional Certifications
