Job Description
Senior developer role for prime broker (PB) derivatives intermediation technology delivering projects for streamlining trade processing, flows and controls for rates and credit derivatives products.

Opportunity
This person will take a lead role to deliver one or more of the following initiatives:
•  Enhance the current PB infrastructure improving the scalability and the stability of the platform.
•  Client clearing solutions for credit and rates in CME, LCH, ICE and other clearing houses – mostly focused from a PB perspective.
•  Drive projects related to the retirement of legacy platforms (Non-PB)

Responsibilities will include working with global project stakeholders – users, vendors and development teams (in the US and in Shanghai) to understand the requirements and deliver effective solutions aggressively. Will need strong, hands-on, programming skills on a distributed platform to deliver these solutions.

Technical Skills

•  Highly proficient in client and server programming using Java (ver 1.6) and Weblogic (ver 10.3/9.2/8.1_SP5)
•  Expert level knowledge of messaging services like EMS and RV
•  Expert level knowledge of Oracle (familiarity with Sybase)
•  Working knowledge of the WinXP and Unix OS (Linux and Solaris)
•  Needs familiarity with shell scripting & Perl programming
•  Expert level knowledge of derivatives trade and lifecycle flow needed.
•  Needs familiarity with Fixed Income products
•  Needs to provide unit and regression testing as required
•  Sound knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
•  Light experience with C# / .NET programming would be a plus.

Non-Technical Skills
Needs to have excellent communication skills to effectively work with the onsite teams as well as the development teams off shore. Should be a strong team player who shows initiative and is self-motivated. Needs excellent time and task management skills to efficiently work with aggressive deadlines. Compliance with process and procedures within the organization, including SDLC, Problem and Change Management disciplines, etc. Strong application in these areas is a must and candidate must act responsibly and independently of peers and management. Applicant should demonstrate professional behavior and be dependable in various scenarios; these include early morning coverage where punctuality is critical.
