Client is looking for Sybase Database Architect--NJ. This is a 3 Month contract position.

 

Job Title: Database Architect (Sybase)

Location: NJ

Position Type: 3 Months Contract

 

Required:-

The responsible Sr. Database Engineer and Architect will participate in concept phase of Policy Admin (PA) application of specialty lines.

Activities: - Current state analysis of PA application - Rank database components, interfaces, technologies with respect to criticality and enterprise/industry standard.

Analyze performance of current Sybase objects to current and future business needs

Define Solution alternatives with pros and cons

Participate in recommending one Solution alternative

Detail Conceptual Architecture for the solution recommended

Estimate Post concept phase (Definition, construction, release) for solution recommended

 

 

Skills: -

-       8 to 12 years overall database experience (MUST)

-        5 of strong expertise in Sybase database design, development, performance benchmarking (MUST)

-       Current in Sybase ASE (12.5/15.0) (MUST)

-       Should have DBA and development skills

-       Experience in doing multiple Sybase to SQL Server 2005/2008 or Oracle migration (MUST)

       Insurance background is highly preferred.
