Hi,
Client is looking for a Software V&V Engineer - Sunnyvale, CA. This is a 6+ months Contract Position. The hourly rate is $45/hr.
The person will need to be able to work on developing tests for testing the UEP API using the MS Test Framework, which is VS .NET.
The hard part about filling the position, is that we are somewhat looking for someone with development experience that will love doing test designs, running tests, finding defects, helping to isolate the root cause, and also able to interface with people to get the information independently.
Assignment for the position:
Candidate will initially be responsible for the Verification and Validation of Tool Systems for testing Implantable Device Product. Initial assignment will be on the Universal Engineering Programmer (UEP) Tool. In addition the candidate will perform system integration and testing with the core in-house system tool suite (i.e. NGTS, UEP, SMART, SAINTS, UTS, STT, etc).
Required qualifications for the positions:
- Proficient in the various testing techniques (black/white box)
- Proficient in producing Formal Test Plans, Test Procedures, etc. and follow development and verification processes.
- Proficient in ad hoc testing to quickly uncover application defects outside defined requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and trouble-shooting skills, and able to work independently.
- Excellent systematic organizational skills and attention for details.
- Proficient in programming languages: C#, C, C++, XML, STL, Visual Basic, Java.
- Proficient with operating systems: Windows XP/2000; Unix and Linux, a plus
- Proficient with compilers: MS Visual Studio .NET (VS 2003 and 2008)
- Knowledgeable with GUI technology and development, and testing of GUI.
- Experience with oscilloscope, function generator, logic analyzers a plus.
- Familiar with Perl, Python, TCL a plus.
- Knowledge of breadboard and PC hardware system interfaces a plus.
- Knowledge and experience in testing system interactions between hardware and software a plus.
- Knowledge of embedded systems a plus.
- Knowledge in multi-tasking systems and real-time application (ex. threading, semaphores, processes, etc.) a plus.
- Experience in requirements specification is preferred. DOORs, experience is a plus.
- Ability to develop test designs from software requirements, designs, and code.
- Strong team player: Ability to work in a team based environment with fellow V&V Engineers, Systems Engineers, Logistics personnel (including technicians), Development Engineers and End User Customers.
- Experience with structured and object-oriented methodology including analysis, design, and development.
- Experience with software development life cycle in medical device industry a plus.
- Experience with tools such as Quick Test Pro, InstallShield, RoboHelp, ClearCase, and ClearQuest a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Office software packages (WORD, EXCEL, VISIO) a plus.
- Experience with customer support.
- Strong self-starter. Pro-active. Has initiative.
Require BS degree in CS, EE, or in related field, or relevant coursework, and typically 5+ years of work experience in a related field. MS degree in CS, EE, or related field a plus.

For this client be sure all the skills should be reflect in your projects as per skill matrix, if you are mentioning in the skill matrix example: in Microfocus COBOL, If you have 4 yrs experience, it should be reflect in your project also. They are too stick about resume. We just got a bad experience with client.
