Able to make recommendations in parameter changes, feature activations on drive test data to improve the system performance.

Minimum of 6 years of experience in tuning projects from which 3 years should be in UMTS tuning.

Good understanding of optimization tools such as TEMS, Actix, Agilent

Experience in tuning a loaded network, and understand the difference between artificial and real traffic loading

Good understanding of Layer 3 messaging

Able to collect and analyze drive data and performance statistics

Knowledge on how IRAT procedures can affects the overall performance.

Candidates have to be flexible to travel.

Would like to have people with 3 years of UMTS/WCDMA experience, if they have prior Ericsson WCDMA experience they could hire off a resume. If perm at ERC they must sit out for at least one year, contractors have to "cooling off period".

 

Acronym Cheat Sheet:

GSM or CDMA – 2G technologies. Way cell phones interact with networks

UMTS/WCDMA – 3G network technologies and used synonymously

LTE (long term evolution) – 4G technology very new

RAN (radio access network) – refers to all of the above technologies
