Client is looking for a Linux Kernel/Platform Developer - San Jose, CA. This is a 6-12 months Contract position. The Hourly rate is $55/hr. Local candidates only.
Job Description:
Responsibilities:
1. Maintain and sustain current products build environment/toolchain and makefile system.
2. Performance tuning in Linux TCP/IP stack, filesystem, hard disks, flash SSD and code optimization in a multi-core system.
3. Develop kernel modules, support various teams on kernel extensions.
4. Involved in supporting hardware platform including drivers, bring-up, installation/upgrade.
Requirements:
1. At least 2 years hands-on in Linux internal, kernel module, networking and/or filesystem development.
2. At least 5 years in other real-time OS and/or kernel experience.
3. Must be proficient in C programming
4. Require strong background in software design, documentation and implementation. System development experience is huge plus.
5. Must be expert in at least three areas in Linux kernel: Linux distribution build environment/Makefile, IP networking, SMP, process management, I/O subsystem, performance analysis, filesystems, memory management.
6. Must have good team work and communication skills.
7. Experience in video streaming is a big plus.
8. Experience in flash SSD is a big plus.
