{Ajax-DOT-NET-FAQ} (Job) BIOS QA Engineer - San Jose, CA

Hi,

 

Client is looking for a BIOS QA Engineer - San Jose, CA. This is a 3-6 months Contract position.  The Hourly rate is $45/hr.  Local candidates only.

 

Job Description:

The work involves validating/testing server platform, using innovative technology such as Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI), BIOS/Firmware validation and its various functionalities. Testing/validating BMC (Baseboard Management Controller) features and functionalities, which are specifically designed for High-end server management.

• Demonstrated experience in planning large/complex projects; able to multitask and work independently.
• A Team player able to work with Program Managers, Software and Hardware Managers to effectively discuss corrective actions.
• Must have deep knowledge of system hardware architecture and the appropriate QA methodology.
• Fast learner and flexible, be able to adapt to new areas and technologies.
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
• Requires a BS CS/EE or MS/ME/Mtech.

Technical skills:
• Knowledge of PC architecture and knowledge of x86 architecture. (Must to have)Hands on experience into Platform testing like :
-Validation of system BIOS/Firmware validation, and validating various BIOS functionalities.
OR
-BMC/IPMI: Testing various functionalities and features of BMC (Baseboard Management Controller), having good knowledge of IPMI commands and specifications, knowledge in CIM and tools like XML, wsman etc...
• Strong knowledge of enterprise class server technologies will be an added advantage.
• (Must): Scripting ability in TCL or Perl, and knowledge of integrating the scripts and automation in the test framework.
