We have an opening for a Flexpoint Developer – UT. This is for a contract position. The hourly rate is $45/hr. Local candidates are highly preferred. F2F Required.
Summary
This is a hands-on development position working in a diverse team of developers to develop user interfaces for various applications in the areas of performance and quality. The development environment is Flex 3.0 on top of a Java application server and an Oracle database. The candidate should ideally have significant experience in Flex 2.0, but 1.5 is equally valued so long as the candidate possesses the propensity, aptitude and experience in Flex. The projects are data intensive and require extensive use of custom MXML and ActionScript code.
Flex development experience, creating rich user interfaces for complex applications is required. ActionScript development skills, including retrieving and parsing XML data from an application server and hands-on Flash development skills are a plus.
Responsibilities
Working in a geographically-distributed team to specify and develop application features
Combining commercial, open-source, and custom-built software to suit business and infrastructure requirements
Providing commercial-quality documentation, support and consulting to assist developers in applying standard infrastructure tools
Adhering to architectural standards and best practices
Qualifications
Rich Internet application development, including Flash, Flex, AJAX
XML and Web Services experience
Familiarity with design patterns
Familiarity with database design
Familiarity with UNIX and Windows development environments
Knowledge of the software development life cycle
Ability to constructively identify problems and provide alternative solutions
Ability to work within an Agile methodology
