Client is looking for a Linux Engineer – San Jose, CA. This is a 6 months contract position. Local candidates only.
Job Description:
- 8+ years of experience with Linux operating systems, preferably Red Hat / CentOS.
- Experience designing, implementing, tuning and supporting a Linux OS in an appliance form factor.
- In-depth knowledge of the Linux kernel, scheduler, and performance tuning.
- Understanding of VMware ESX, Xen, and KVM virtualization platforms from a scheduler, resource allocation, and implementation perspective.
- Understanding of Web 2.0 service/architecture and provide Linux OS level tuning for better Web service performance
- Experience optimizing Linux to run in Virtual Machine form factor. In-depth knowledge of Linux OS security technologies including SELinux, IPTables, and SSL / Certificate management.
- Experience in High Availability/Distributed system architecture
