Job Function: UI Designer "THIS IS A FULL TIME POSITION"
A Web User Interface Designer will work closely with other members of the marketing and development team to deliver high quality web application designs and prototypes for end users of web based products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Design software application wireframes using Visio, Photoshop, or other applicable tools
• Design applications and work with product management to add input for documenting technical requirements for integration with backend development
• Provide screen samples and wireframes for Product Requirement Documents (PRD)
• Develop prototypes using HTML, Javascript, and CSS among others
• Interact with Quality Assurance personnel during system testing phases of application development
• Stay current on new technologies as they relate to web-based application development
Knowledge and Skills
• Strong HTML and JavaScript (AJAX, DOM, JSON)
• CSS experience
• Knowledge of the Structured Query Language (SQL) and relational database
• Strong Web 2.0/RIA knowledge and experience
• Strong knowledge on User Interface and design
• Proficient in analyzing software requirements and and creating wireframes and designs based on those requirements documenting technical specifications for web applications
• Experience with the full software development life cycle, including design, testing, deployment, and documentation activities
• Aptitude for learning and applying programming concepts
• Experience managing the maintenance and administration of pre-production code environments
• Experience in developing new systems and maintaining existing systems
• Capable of reasoning and thinking through problems and be able to independently and jointly develop desired solutions
• Self motivated and willing to "do what it takes" to get the job done
• Client-focused attitude with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to clearly communicate and share solutions with fellow team members
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills not necessarily associated with programming
• Committed team player with positive winning attitude
• Ability to work within a team and work independently
Other Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Extensive experience building prototypes that can be used in focus groups and other market facing research
• UI Certification preferred
