POSITION SUMMARY
This position requires a hands-on quality assurance engineer with a strong testing background and good automation experience. The QA Engineer writes and is responsible for test cases/test plans, performs and directs functional, integration, and regression testing, scripts and implements a wide variety of automated testing solutions using various tools. The QA engineer defines, coordinates, and implements the testing strategy for any of the sites for this business unit. Extensive experience with Web Site testing front end and backend is necessary and E-commerce is a Plus!

The QA engineer must have excellent communication skills (interpersonal, listening, written and oral), be self motivated, organized, thorough, and efficient. This individual will need to work closely with all project staff and the performance testing group to ensure web applications meet the desired performance before going Live. Further, the QA engineer needs to have the ability to make intelligent QA tradeoffs in order to support feature release schedules while upholding the company's QA Engineering standards for software releases.
SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED
Technical Skills
Able to work in Windows, Linux, and Mac environments
Expert troubleshooting skills
Strong familiarity and experience with application log analysis
Prior experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and XML
Proficient in a formal programming language such Perl, Java, Ruby, Python, etc.
Familiarity with application load, stress, and performance testing concepts. (previous hands-on execution of load tests is a plus)
Knowledge and experience with common testing methodologies and their application
Business Skills
Very strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical skills
Basic math and statistical analysis skills
Detail oriented with strong organizational Skills
Familiarity with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
Strong ability to switch between multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff
Capable of leading offshore testing resources if projects require it
