Client is looking for a Unix System Administrator - Rosemead, CA. This is a 8 months Contract Position. The hourly rate is $40/hr.
Must have:
List top three critical skills that CW must have
- 3-5 years UNIX server administration exp
- 3-5 years project leader exp
- 3-5 years Microsoft office exp including Word/Excel
Job Requirements:
- 3+ years of proven exp with installing, configuring, trouble shooting clustering technology (HACMP)
- 5+ continuous years of recent AIX technical support exp within US on large enterprise environments with large data centers (50+ AIX UNIX servers)
- 5+ year's exp in the field performing analysis and providing recommendations.
- 5 years installing, configuring, and troubleshooting AIX enterprise servers, P690 (regatta), P590-P595
- 5+ years hands on exp with using and configuring NIM, HMC, DNS, LPARs.
- 5+ years of proven operational exp in a high availability (24 X 7), high service level (99.7% or better) large operational organization.
- Must process detailed knowledge of AIX operating system, and have the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Worked in SAN-IBM ESS Environment
- Strong verbal and oral communicational skills ability to share knowledge with the team
- Client service focused attitude and the ability to work well with other groups is required
- Demonstrated ability to perform operating systems failure analysis and ability to work vendor if needed to obtain problem resolution
- Ability to diagnose server network problem
Typical Responsibilities: the selected candidate will be responsible for the administration, installation, configuration, upgrade and support of AIX operating systems and associated components. He/She will perform problem diagnostics and initiate problem resolution. In addition, this individual will perform AIX based server product evaluations such as new operating system releases and technologies to accommodate business requirements and server consolidation efforts and coordinate operating system and server activity with multiple groups. The selected candidate will provide consulting services to developers ion design, performance and tuning, create and maintain server documentation relating to server configurations and applications, perform on-call support
Preferences:
Demonstrated knowledge in server configuration for optimal security and firewall technologies. Experience in supporting server that run oracle or UDB. Any performance and tuning exp is a plus. Exp in supporting backup products (e.g., Tivoli Storage Manager) is a strong plus. Exp with Microsoft windows.

For this client be sure all the skills should be reflect in your projects as per skill matrix, if you are mentioning in the skill matrix example: in XAML (WPF), If you have 4 yrs experience, it should be reflect in your project also. They are too stick about resume. We just got a bad experience with client.
