CLIENT is currently seeking a Technical Lead for a contract to hire position in Cambridge, MA. He or she should be proficient in markup languages like XML, XSL, XSLT, XPath, and XQuery. S/he should be a subject matter expert in Oracle Content Management Systems, Adobe LiveCycle and eMail subscription systems. Candidate should have specialized experience designing and building scalable Content Management System and use of the LiveCycle enterprise suite.
S/he will be joining a small team of professionals in a fast paced environment where they will be a key player with significant responsibilities. Successful candidate will also participate in the development of web sites in support of new studies/data collection efforts. A candidate for this position will be a self starter who values their work and those of their team members.
Essential Job Functions
- Codes, tests, debugs, implements, and documents highly complex programs. Develops complex test plans to verify logic of new or modified programs.
- Designs systems and programs to meet highly complex business needs. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs are developed and coded. Creates appropriate documentation in work assignments such as program code, and technical documentation.
- Gathers information from existing systems, analyzes program and time requirements. Assists project manager in preparing time estimates and justification for assigned tasks.
- Supports project personnel in resolving fairly complex program problems. Works with client and management to resolve issues and validate programming requirements within their areas of responsibility. Provides technical advice on complex programming.
- May serve as technical project lead; provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel. Conducts quality assurance activities such as peer reviews.
- Provides consulting services in a technical and/or managerial capacity to management and technical staff. May represent company in presentations or conferences involving customers, co-contractors, suppliers, competitors, academia or the public.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics or related field preferred
- Nine or more years of programming or testing experience
- Experience working with appropriate programming languages, operating systems and software
- Experience working with relational databases to facilitate programming software
Other Qualifications
- Technical management of the development team
- A subject matter expert in content management system and email subscription management system
- Special focus on designing and building scalable Content Management Systems; Experienced with Adobe LiveCycle enterprise suite; Specialized in eMail subscription systems
- Designing and developing secure and scalable technical web applications architecture
- Expertise in markup languages like XML, XSL, XSLT, XPath and XQuery
- Experience in conducting business analysis and developing software requirements
- Strong experience in detailed technical analysis and estimates preparation
- Mentoring and leading developers in various aspects of the software development
- Expertise in open source solutions
