SEEKING 11 Data Architects/Designers for a large Data Warehouse project in the Atlanta, GA area.

3+ Months

 

11 Data Architects/Designers for a large Data Warehouse project in the Atlanta, GA area.

This is an initial 3 month contract with a very strong likelihood of extending long term.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:
4 Data Architects (Designer)
* Data architecture experience
* Data model experience
* Consultant equivalent level
* Experience writing high level and detailed designs
* Oracle and Informatica experience
1 Data Architect (Data Modeler)

* Deep data architecture
* Strong Erwin modeling experience
* Consultant equivalent level
* Oracle database experience
6 Data Architecture (Interface architect)

* Data Analysis
* DW background if possible
* Process design
* Oracle database experience
* Analyst and Consultant equivalent level
Will be a part of the DW and BI Design team and will be responsible for analyzing data, creating solutions by performing & application database design activities, documenting functional requirements and working directly with ETL Architects and developers.

Required Skills:
1) Must have at least 2 years of recent
(2005 and forward)
experience personally developing custom, handwritten ETL to load data into a dimensional model (star schema, not normalized). By "handwritten" I am referring to the use of stored procedures
(PL/SQL, BTEQ, T-SQL, Transact SQL) or SQL scripting vs. ETL that is developed using a tool like Informatica, Ab Initio, or DataStage, etc. This experience needs to be either on Teradata, Oracle, SQLServer, Sybase, or MySQL.

2) The successful candidate must have experience
creating, enhancing and debugging code in an environment where they have not been provided written specs detailing the specific code or script where changes must be made. They must be able to analyze an existing workflow or process and be able to independently determine the modifications required to effect a change or the spot where a completely new procedure or script should be inserted.
3) Must possess strong
ANSI SQL skills.

4) Must have excellent communication skills - both oral and
written. The candidate's oral communication must be clear, concise, and effortlessly understood. The candidate must be comfortable talking with end users and executives in order to understand their needs and must be able to translate these needs into written specs for developers that are clear and unambiguous. The candidate must be able to orally converse in a style that is direct and easy to understand both in content and oral presentation.
5) Must be familiar with dimensional modeling concepts and techniques.
