Position Description:
Data Warehouse Programmer/Developer: Provide in-depth systems analysis, application design/development and support in a Teradata data warehousing and MVS mainframe environment under the direction of a team lead. ¿Perform all aspects of systems life cycle: define requirements and design, develop, test, implement, document, and support data warehousing applications for enhancement and strategic projects ¿Gather data requirements through facilitated sessions with business customers and design data models based on those requirements ¿Coordinate and work with numerous groups including business customers, application development and data/database administrators to develop information solutions ¿Participate in developing consistent definitions and mapping of data sources for the enterprise ¿Use project management and systems development life cycle methodologies ¿Handle multiple project assignments with minimal direction and escalate issues as necessary to management ¿Be flexible to respond to changing priorities ¿Provide support of existing data warehousing applications including participation in off shift duty analyst pager rotation ¿Work on-site 40 hours/week, Monday ¿ Friday May be required to work weekends
Skills Required:
Over five years recent experience in a Teradata, data warehousing environment ¿Over five years experience with relational databases, advanced SQL and extract, transform and load (ETL) programming/tools/utilities. Extensive experience with Teradata MultiLoad, FastLoad and BTEQ is a must. ¿Strong mainframe skills including MVS, JCL, CA7, TSO/SPF, COBOL is preferred ¿Strong data design, data modeling and facilitation skills ¿Exceptional analytical experience of complex applications and data relationships ¿Strong written/oral communication and interpersonal skills ¿Strong drive for results and ability to work independently ¿Self starter with proven innovation skills ¿Ability to work with cross-functional teams and all levels of management ¿Demonstrated commitment to quality and project timing ¿Demonstrated ability to document complex systems ¿Demonstrated experience creating and executing detailed test plans ¿Experience in obtaining and understanding business requirements ¿Experience with the complete data life cycle ¿Experience with financial business functions and BI/OLAP tools a plus
Experience Required:
Seven or more years in Information Technology. ¿Extensive experience with Teradata MultiLoad, FastLoad and BTEQ Demonstrated experience creating and executing detailed test plans
