Seeking Cognos Developer
Ft. Worth, TX
6 month project
$40-45/hr
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Math or equivalent technical training with eight to ten years with information systems analysis, data warehouse design, dimensional modeling, project mgt., development, implementation and maintenance across multiple hardware/software platforms. knowledge and experience with GUI development tools, relational and OLAP database mgt. systems, office productivity software, and multi-tiered application development.
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences with strong interpersonal, oral communication and presentation skills; ability to accomplish complex technical investigation, design, programming and troubleshooting tasks with minimal supervision.
Required skills include detailed knowledge of
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and/or 2008 and DTS/SSIS;
Detailed knowledge of Cognos BI Framework Manager, Transformer, and Report Studio;
Working detailed knowledge of data warehousing star-schema design;
Standard Microsoft Office applications and internet web browser;
Knowledge of standard automated business processes;
Strong interpersonal skills;
Ability to coordinate actions with supervisor and technical support offices
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Math with eight to ten years in information systems analysis, design, project management, development, implementation and maintenance across multiple hardware and software platforms; ten to twelve years experience plus specific experience with packaged BI software.; Additional preferred qualifications include working knowledge of Cognos BI modeling/reporting; Essbase OLAP development; Cognos OLAP development;
General Description: The incumbent will be responsible for designing, creating, supporting, modifying and maintaining moderately complex data warehousing and business intelligence systems, programs and project documentation; performing complicated business analysis, database design, systems administration tasks, and/or programming; interacting with Global finance, sales, marketing, and other internal business organizations and outside organizations, representing work group to resolve system and project technical issues; and working as a member of project teams, providing expertise on customer systems and processes.
