Role:  Lead Cobol developer

Duration: 4-6 months

Loc: Richmond, VA

Rate:  DOE

Description:  - Acquiring system requirements - Developing a combination of batch COBOL, COBOL/CICS, Easytrieve, and JCL to access VSAM files (KSDS and ESDS) variable and fixed length. The components for this program are expected to be designed and developed as part of this contract. - Know and have demonstrated success with heavy use of subprograms and have heavy experience with variable length VSAM. Pls note: The candidate will be working predominately on their own at our downtown office at 703 E. Main St. Parking is NOT provided. There are several parking lots around the building at avg cost of $80-$90 a month. Pls make sure you set this expectation on who will cover this cost with your candidate before they are submitted for consideration.  They are expected to do weekly status reports and to escalate issues as they arise. In addition: Knowledge of overall business experience Knowledge of application being implemented Knowledge of methodology being adopted Prior implentation experience in similar organization Ability to communicate at all levels of an organization and third parties Experience of similar scale roles and organizations Ability to work independently with limited supervision Ability to communicate functional requirements into configuration Ability to train users Ability to capture requirements from a diverse group.
